Regulated areas for Japanese beetle in British Columbia
To prevent the spread of Japanese beetle in British Columbia, we have established regulated areas where the beetles have been detected.

Beetle Regulated Areas
As part of the coordinated response to the detection of Japanese beetle, the CFIA has established a regulated area for Japanese beetle in Vancouver, and an area in Burnaby. The regulated area has been expanded because of where beetles were caught in 2021.
A CFIA permission is required to move soil from the regulated areas.
If your address falls within a regulated area a movement certificate is required, CLICK HERE to access the from for the movement of plants with soil or soil-related matter attached out of a Japanese beetle regulated area and is restricted year-round.
